Writing
Quality Review.
In which we can distinguish three different approaches.
Linguistic
Review.
To check that:
Abbreviations, acronyms and units of
measure are correct and consistent throughout the manuscript.
Grammar, syntax, punctuation,
capitalization, spelling, etc., are correct and consistent.
The content flows logically and sentence
structure is appropriate
Paragraphs are not too long, with no more
than one main topic per paragraph.
Tables and figures are correctly
formatted and easy to interpret.
Scientific
Content Overview.
To check that:
The information provided corresponds to
the references cited.
There are no contradictions in the
scientific content between different sections of the manuscript.
The manuscript is clearly organized, the
strategy is sufficiently described and objectives are adequately addressed.
Literature used as a reference is
appropriate and correctly interpreted.
Data interpretation data is adequate.
The main message is exposed with
sufficient clarity.
The article does not deviate from the
main topic.
There is no duplication of data between
different sections of the manuscript (i.e., results and data tables).
Conclusions are well supported by the
data presented and do not overreach.
Manuscript
Structure Review.
To check that:
The title properly represents the
contents of the manuscript.
The summary properly represents the
contents of the manuscript.
Introducing framed properly the working
hypotheses and establishes the objectives clearly.
Methods fully describe the design and
methodology of the project so that it can be reproduced by others.
The results focus on the important
results presented clearly and accurately.
Discussion interprets properly the
results and conclusions are accurate.
References are sufficient and clearly
listed.
Titles of tables and figures are
accurate and reflect the results shown.
Data
Integrity Review:
Check that values, numbers (including
data tables), percentages, statistical values, and, in general, any
quantitative expression in the paper, correspond to the original sources
(references or raw data provided by the client).
